Get Involved At Orcutt Community Theater
We welcome people from the community to help us run our theater! In exchange for participating in volunteer activities throughout the year, Active Members have voting rights, are eligible to run for the Board, and get discounted tickets for all performances. Volunteering can also earn you free admission to shows in certain circumstances! Annual membership runs from July 1 through June 30, and costs only $25 for the year.

Volunteer Your Time
|
Even if you choose not to become a member, we would appreciate the loan of your time and skills. We need set builders, painters, lights and sound operators, wardrobe and seamstress helpers, makeup specialists, hospitality workers on show nights, props and set pieces procurement, and a myriad of other small and large jobs done.
As with most theaters, ticket sales alone cannot keep us afloat. We rely on other income to help fund our productions and ongoing expenses. No one in our organization gets paid, and we are a non-profit business, so all money goes toward purchasing Rights and Royalties, set construction and decoration, advertising, printing, costuming, etc. Your donation is tax-deductible, and can be earmarked for the General Fund or for any area that you specify. Submit Play Ideas
|
The Board will accept suggestions for future seasons up to January 31 of the current season. If you have an idea, please contact us or bring a copy of the script to a monthly Board Meeting for consideration. Original scripts will be considered, but scripts published through major companies like Samuel French, Dramatists, and the like may carry more weight.

Direct A Show
|
We are always excited to meet prospective Directors! If you would like to be considered for future seasons, provide us with a resume of prior directing experience, reviews, programs, recordings, anything you may have to prove your experience. If you have no experience, but would like to get some, we can talk about mentors and Assistant Directing. Contact us!

Come To Auditions
|
Everyone is welcome to audition for our shows, with or without experience. Unless otherwise specified, you will not need to come with prepared monologues or musical scores. If you just want to watch how the process goes, or come to volunteer for backstage work, come on down! You have to start somewhere, right? We can help ease you into this fun and rewarding hobby.
